    Greetings Writers-

Its a busy summer at the TV Writers Vault as July heats up with hundreds of writer's projects getting reviewed, and a fortunate handful being contacted by Producers directly.

I cannot stress enough the importance of Title and a great Logline (that one or two sentence description that sells the core idea of the show). When I see what development executives and producers gravitate toward, its always a clever title with a provocative and compelling Logline. Formats always get revised, and producers will always need to develop and refine any treatment you submit, but its the core concept, and sometimes title alone, that makes them want to jump.

My writing partner, Burk Lindahl, and I received an offer from Bruce Nash Entertainment for a primetime gameshow format we created after pitching a title that was in itself both an ultimatum and a popular phrase. As the actual development of the format has morphed into several variations, and we've considered interest from other companies that may be better suited to produce the show, it is the title and one sentence premise of the show that has given us momentum and opened a lot of doors for this, and future projects.

Keep the creative juices flowing, and don't get bogged down with one project, or one company. When you have that special project that you are certain is right for television, never settle, and keep pushing until you find the right connection.

We have some exciting news in this second installment of the July Newsletter, with another top production company joining our service to scout projects, and another Producer interview published for your enjoyment.

I'm happy to share any advice or quidance in the process of development and pitching, as well as provide any writing or consulting services that may fit your needs. Feel free to contact me direct at scott@tvwritersvault.com

Best of success to all of our Writers and Producers developing and discovering that next groundbreaking project. Write inspired.

    Best Regards,
