The TV Writers Vault Newsletter
Greetings Writers!
This spring brought new beginnings for several of
our Writers making direct contact with Producers, in
addition to the 200-plus official project reviews
our writing members received.
Each week has seen at least 3 production companies
scouting our database for new projects, and always
several projects selected as "under consideration".
I want to take this moment to emphasize the
importance of constantly developing and refining
your material. Check out our information on
concept development and
other insight for expanding your craft. An idea can
be great, but an Executive won't get past the first
paragraph if it's not efficient and forward-moving
in detail. Every project that has been optioned from
our service was written in a very detailed, but
brisk form. Kudos to those who take the time to
refine!
We're excited to have several new
companies
in the fold this month, and many new
writers. We wish all of you the best of success.
Please contact me personally with any questions or
requests you may have regarding the use of our
service. I'm here to help.
I want to personally thank you for your commitment
to the creative process, as we at the
TV Writers Vault
commit ourselves to the protection and
promotion of your inspired projects.
Yours Truly,
Scott Manville

Pitch "Write" Now!
Concept is king in the world of development, but to
pitch right you've got to go the extra mile in
making your concept something tangible. Branded
elements (a person or product) can spur the
executive into fast forward action because the
project then has a built in audience, and can often
clarify the direction and potential of the show.
Although, attaching a celebrity or personality to
your project can be a career in itself, involving an
expert or first-hand person related to your subject
matter or story can be enough for a producer to
invest in. Don't pitch a reality-based project
involving Nascar unless you can get Nascar involved.
Typically, it starts with a query to their marketing
reps. This is typically a producers job, but your
goal is to bring a production company a project that
already has legs.
Roll up your sleeves, and do the leg-work that will
put your project above all others. Even if your
project doesn't get produced, the meetings and
contacts it can generate will only help the big
picture for new projects to come.

Writer Testimony!
"TV
Writers Vault is an excellent resource for
Writers/Creators looking to get their ideas out to a
broad market quickly and effectively.
In the six months that
I've had my Treatment up with TV Writers Vault, it has
been reviewed by five different production companies,
and I just spoke this morning to the head of one company
looking to take it to the next step. In addition to the
ease of posting your Treatments, Scott Manville is quick
to help with connecting interested parties. Thanks for
putting together such a great service!"
