The TV Writers Vault Newsletter
Greetings Writers!
Item! My girlfriend is having "Desperate
Housewives" withdrawal, and I need another fix of
Dwight Shrute on "The Office". While some of the
Nets are airing reruns of current hits, there's a
lot of great writing happening in television to
keep us all inspired. Check out " The
Riches" on FX. It's a great story
concept, with complex and entertaining characters
like you've never seen before.
It's been a busy month at the
TV Writers Vault
, with over 300 official project reviews, and
three producers requesting multiple projects and
contact with Writing members. Congratulations to
those Writers, and best of luck to all those with
current projects reviewed.
We've also got a few new Executive Interviews
for you to soak up (see below), and a new " In
The Press" area at the site to keep
you up-to-date on our presence in the media.
I want to personally thank you for your
commitment to the creative process, as we at the
TV Writers Vault commit ourselves to the
protection and promotion of your inspired
projects.
Yours Truly,
Scott Manville

New Industry Exec Interviews! -
This month we had a great experience sitting
down with Producer/Writer/Director
Dave Pullano (" Blind Date", "Star
Dates", "Porky's") who shared some
great insight from his years of writing and
producing experience in reality TV. Pearls people!
Pearls!
And if you haven't already, be sure to catch
our interview with TV Writers Vault Member and
Executive Producer
Alfanso Guerra.
These are a few in our continuing series of
interviews with industry execs and members of the
TV Writers Vault, bringing you first-hand
knowledge of the development and production
process.

TV Spec Writing...
One of the greatest tools to showcase your talent
as a writer in the television industry is with a
"spec script" of your favorite show. Specs are
sample scripts written for a current series, and a
great calling card for any television writer.
With the concept and characters of the show
already proven by the success of the show, it's
already more palatable for a producer reading a
sample episode you've written... so long as the
writing is good and entertaining. Specs are rarely
sold, but can actually land jobs for writers.
They're also fun to write, knowing the characters
so well.
In the coming month we'll be adding a "spec for
current show" genre category to our database for
scouting producers. This will surely bring more
attention to your talent, and increase
relationships being built with producers. Check
out the
Writing World article
on TV Spec writing for some more insight.
Have fun, and write inspired!
