ThumpUp I'm starting to gravitate away from the Amazing Race and American Idol, and finding myself watching "How Its Made" on Discovery's Science Channel. Simple, industrial, step-by-step, narrated documentary. Strangely satisfying.

Maybe it’s a guy thing. I like the educational shows myself. My spouse prefers the shows that you mention plus Lost and Survivor.

No its not just a guy thing- I completely agree with programming to feed my brain. I have been watching more shows like I Survived (maybe I will know what to do if a situation arises) and How it's Made. I am also a big fan of several shows on HGTV such as House Hunters, Design on a Dime, Selling New York. There are a few things I would like to see which inspired a few of my current projects. The docu-style reality shows such as Keeping Up with the Kardashians, The Deadliest Catch, and the Fabulous Beekman Boys are also very entertaining to me.
