I look for subjects and areas of life that hold a lot of drama, suspense, conflict... basically, "challenges" in life. Always makes for good story, and that's the root of any good show.

I prefer to see what types of shows are on now, and take it to the next logical step.

Lots of free time helps, but you cannot give what you do not possess, so being knowledgeable is important.

I'm in a good mood . Guess the way the stars are shinin down on a brotha right now got me feelin kinda Guuuit! ... I will commit a random act of kindness. U kno what im gonna do? I'm Gonna give u all a secret. U could say I'm feelin gen-er-ous i guess. Because I'm about to give you a true secret of creativity and inspiration. Do This: Set aside 3 or 4 hours or more. See yourself at the end of your goal; the hours after or the next day after achievement of your goal. How does your life look? What should you see/be doing etc. having achieved this goal? Light a green and/or yellow candal. Burn sandalwood insense. Take a bath in essential oil sandal wood or honey suckle. Listen to some smooth instrumental music (play low - so you can hear your thoughts). You're in a comfortable place. Have a taste of something sweet like a chocolate mint as you focus on your work of art. It'll come. Mention me at the award ceremony... 1 luv piph

I also find that writing first thing in the morning is great. Clear mind, operating on a deeper level before all the activity of the day forces us to operate laterally and more surface.

Hey Epiphany- Good advice. Gotta get the mind clear to let the inspiration through. Then I take a look at the world from a broader perspective and find subjects that I think people would be interested in knowing more about. I also like to mix elements to create ironic circumstances that could be the premise of a reality series... (taking a blue blood family and forcing them to live off the land, having two professional athletes swap sports, etc...) Creating stuff that would be interesting to watch. D-Man

I think it is important to always be listening to your sub-conscience. It tells you stories about what you have been feeding your mind. Always be willing to dream and nurture even the oddest of ideas. Tell them to friends, study their reactions and when its there, write it down. If you begin limiting your mind and trying to tell it you only want a certain idea than it will begin to close up. Allow yourself to dream and surround yourself with people who will listen to even your craziest of ideas.

I don't know why but I always seem to get good ideas when I'm in the shower or taking my kids for a walk in the stroller! Maybe they're two times I stop "thinking" and things just come to me more organically?!?!?!

-Know your subject matter intimately.
-Have a passion for it that is unmistakable.
-Be willing to share it to make a better world.
This I truly believe is the recipe for success on so many levels, whether it is being a public speaker or a creator of a T.V. production people will love, talk with others about and benefit from.
